Lewis Pullman

Biography

Following the example of his father, Lewis Pullman moved into the film industry. The actor starred in major and minor roles, and experts predict a bright future for him in Hollywood.

Childhood and youth

Lewis Pullman was born on January 29, 1993, in Los Angeles, the youngest of three children of actor Bill Pullman and his wife, dancer Tamara Hurwitz. Despite the presence of connections in art, after graduation, the graduate chose an education far from creativity.

The young man entered the Warren Wilson Humanitarian College, where students are required not only to study but also to work on campus, as well as to engage in public affairs. Lewis acted in student plays, starred in short films, helped at a homeless center, and interned in the college’s tractor department.

Pullman joked that he could have worked as a backhoe operator had he not made his way into the film industry. Lewis received his bachelor’s degree in social work in 2015.

Movies

In the fall of 2015, the aspiring actor was approved for the lead role in the comedy series Highston, which was produced by Sacha Baron Cohen. Film critics received the pilot episode well, but the picture was later taken out of production.

The native of Los Angeles began to replenish his filmography with notable full-length works only 3 years later. So, in the spring of 2018, the psychological horror Strangers: Cruel Intentions was released. The plot centers on a married couple (Martin Henderson and Christina Hendricks ) who, along with their two children ( Bailey Madison and Lewis Pullman), are the victims of masked thugs.

The slasher was a sequel to the horror film The Strangers, released a decade earlier, to mixed reviews, although it was a box office success. In the fall of 2022, filming began on the third part of the franchise with a different cast.

Shortly after the premiere of The Strangers, Lewis successfully passed the casting for the thriller Bad Times at the El Royale. The director and screenwriter of the tape, Drew Goddard, noted that Pullman is one of those actors who have some kind of magic and fully correspond to the desired image. The cinematographer admitted that he felt this from the first glance at the candidate, and before that he experienced the same already in 2009 at Chris Hemsworth’s audition for the black comedy Cabin in the Woods.

The representative of the acting dynasty portrayed Miles Miller, a heroin addict who manages a hotel on the border of California and Nevada, where six strangers with a dark past gather on a fateful night in the late 1960s. For this role, Lewis received praise from critics, who called his performance outstanding and brilliant, and a nomination for the Saturn Award among the supporting actors.

While working on Bad Times at the El Royale, Pullman returned to acting in TV series and landed a recurring cast on the comedy-drama Catch-22, which was released a year later. Then the premieres of two full-length projects with the participation of Lewis took place, and in 2020 the performer disappeared from the screens for 2 years.

Personal life

Now Pullman’s personal life is connected with a representative of another acting family – Rainy Qualley, daughter of Andie MacDowell and older sister Margaret Qualley. The couple began dating in the fall of 2020.

Rainey has repeatedly published photos with her lover on her own social networks, confessing to Lewis her tender feelings. And for the first time, the stars took to the red carpet together only in the spring of 2022, when the action movie Top Gun: Maverick premiered. The height of the celebrity is 183 cm.

The Hollywood Reporter predicted in advance that this project would turn Pullman into a real star.
