Doug Williams (Douglas Lee Williams) was born on 9 August 1955 in Zachary, Louisiana, United States. He is the father of Temessia Williams. Doug is an American football player, former quarterback, and coach. Williams is best known for his performance with the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos, where he was named Super Bowl MVP after passing for 340 yards and four touchdowns, a one-quarter Super Bowl record he set in the second quarter. Making him the first black quarterback to start and win the Super Bowl.

Following his playing career, Temessia Williams father began coaching, most notably as the head coach of the Grambling State Tigers. Following this, Williams served as Team Principal for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Virginia Destroyers, and the Washington Football Team.

Doug Williams has been married three times. He and his third wife, Raunda Williams, have eight children together. They have two boys and six daughters between them. Their 2 kids are Doug Williams Jr. and Adrian Williams. Their 6 daughters are Laura Williams, Leta Williams, Temessia Williams, Ashley Williams, Jasmine Williams, and Lee Williams. Williams was born in Zachary, Louisiana, a town of about 8,000 near Baton Rouge. Williams and his wife Round have eight children. In addition, he is the cousin of recording artist Isreal Benton. Temessia Williams brothers Adrian and Doug Jr. (DJ) are successful college players. Adrian played basketball at Brown University until the end of the 2010-11 season, while DJ signed his father to play at Grambling State University. Doug’s nephew Johnny Higgins also played in the NFL.

In 2009, Williams and fellow Grambling State alumnus James Harris co-founded the Black College Football Hall of Fame. Each year, several famous college and university football players who have historically been black are inducted into the Hall of Fame at an induction ceremony in Atlanta. In July 2019, Grambling State honored Williams by naming a street after him on the college campus.
