American television personality, Andy Bassich is a renowned star of the National Geographic Channel who gained worldwide fame after his groundbreaking appearance in the documentary series, Life Below Zero. He is also a musher handling over 37 sled dogs in Alaska so far.

Andy Bassich was born in 1958 in Washington, DC, USA, where he spent his childhood and early years before moving to Alaska. His race is white and he has American nationality.

Bassich attended John F. Kennedy High School. After graduating from high school, Bassich began working as a carpenter to help his family. Later, he moved to Alaska and started breeding dogs to start hunting.

Andy Bassichh is resting from the hip injury he suffered in the winter of 2018. For a few months, he also used crutches.

“I’ve been gone for six months due to a very serious hip injury,” he described the cameras. ‘I couldn’t get the treatment I needed in Alaska so I headed to Florida to get the treatment I needed and spent the last six months with my girlfriend Denise.’

The incident happened when Andy was moving a snow machine that was stuck in the snow.
